1: City tour and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Briefing about the safari, our guide will pick you up from Kigali or at the airport and take you for a city tour in Kigali, the city is known for its impeccable cleanliness and peaceful environment. You will also go to Kigali Genocide Memorial center and check out some more sites of the country in the capital city.
You will then drive to Volcanoes National park found in northwestern Rwanda check in at your hotel where you will have diner and spend the night.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking
Today is the big day for gorilla trekking, meet Rwanda’s gentle giant! For most people this is the absolute highlight of their tours. The gorillas you track belong to one of nine habituated family groups who can tolerate the presence of humans for a brief period every day. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest boasts both mountain gorillas and chimpanzees – the only forest in Africa which can make this claim.
You will trek the gorillas through the sloped covered with thick vegetation in the company of a safari guide plus trackers, in search of a mountain gorilla family. The walking can at times be tough and lengthy, however when you finally see the glorious silverback, you will forget all discomforts. On finding the gorillas you will be guided to stay within a 6 meters’’ distance from the gorillas, you will observe them for an hour as you stare into their big brown eyes.
Gorilla trekking activity is unpredictable. It is challenging to foresee the number of hours you will track. The gorilla outing may take anything between 2 and 8 hours. Anticipate walking lengthy distances in steep muddy terrain, at times with rain overhead, prior to meeting the gorillas. You will be required to be in physical condition to track. For purposes of conservation visitors are only allowed to spend just one hour with the gorillas. After the trek, you will be transferred back to Kigali for your flight back home or to a preferred place.
