Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Travel to Bwindi impenetrable
Briefing about the safari, drive to Bwindi impenetrable Forest found in southwestern Uganda along the way there is a local community renowned for crafting local drums plus crafts as well as their fruit market; feel free to stopover, admire and purchase some souvenirs. We shall have Lunch en route as we appreciate the true culture of Uganda Head to the Equator crossing which is among the most amazing sceneries in Africa, and there you will take some photographs.
Drive past mountains, bamboo forest plus tropical rainforest. Check in at your hotel where you will have diner and spend the night.

Day 2: Fascinating Gorilla tracking in Bwindi Forest

Today is the big day for gorilla trekking, meet Uganda’s gentle giant! For most people this is the absolute highlight of their tour in Uganda. The gorillas you track belong to one of nine habituated family groups who can tolerate the presence of humans for a brief period every day. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest boasts both mountain gorillas and chimpanzees – the only forest in Africa which can make this claim. . It also hosts five other species of primate, 113 species of mammal, over 200 butterflies and 360 birds. Your guide will point out signs of previous gorilla activity, including dung, nests and chewed bamboo shoots.

Following breakfast, go for the morning briefing just before searching the forest on this highlight of Gorilla trekking that may take the whole day. You will trek the gorillas through the sloped covered with thick vegetation in the company of a safari guide plus trackers, in search of a mountain gorilla family. The walking can at times be tough and lengthy, however when you finally see the glorious silverback, you will forget all discomforts. On finding the gorillas you will be guided to stay within a 6 meters’’ distance from the gorillas, you will observe them for an hour as you stare into their big brown eyes.

Gorilla trekking activity is unpredictable. It is challenging to foresee the number of hours you will track. The gorilla outing may take anything between 2 and 8 hours. Anticipate walking lengthy distances in steep muddy terrain, at times with rain overhead, prior to meeting the gorillas. You will be required to be in physical condition to track. For purposes of conservation visitors are only allowed to spend just one hour with the gorillas.

The primates here include baboon, chimpanzee, black & white colobus, Lhotse’s, red tailed monkeys plus blue monkey, as well as the renowned residents of Bwindi- the mountain gorilla.
