This 5 Days Uganda Gorilla Tour and Wildlife Safari commences and finishes in Kampala. This safari will take you to 3 of Uganda’s national parks: Bwindi Gorilla Forest, Kibale Forest. This Uganda Gorilla Tour will begin with chimpanzee tracking in Kibale Forest; a tropical rainforest home to 13 primate species. Tracking these playful chimpanzees racing through the green forest is a very memorable experience.

 You will also proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable national park to track the endangered amazing mountain gorillas within that moist tropical forest. There are a number of habituated gorilla families in Bwindi. Staring deep into the large brown eyes of the gentle gorilla giants is certainly a very thrilling unforgettable experience worth enjoying. Additional activities to be enjoyed include thrilling nature walks to spot orchids, birds and monkeys.

Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Kampala – Kibale National Park

You will be met by our safari guide who will brief you about this safari. Transfer to Fort Portal driving through Mityana and Mubende towns. You will also see the Nakayima tree along the way which is an ancestral tree. Enjoy watching the beautiful scenery as you drive past the hills. Dine and slumber

Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking in Kibale Forest

Early in the morning, you will set off for chimpanzee tracking. You will be led by a forest guide who will help you identify the various tree species, as well as inform you of the various features in the forest. Tracking these playful chimpanzees racing through the green forest is a very memorable experience. Besides chimpanzees, the forest is in addition home to several other primates including the black & white colobus white colobus monkeys, L’Hoest’s monkeys and the Red tailed monkeys, including several others. You will head back to your hotel for diner and overnight.

Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi

Begin early for Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, driving through the lush green vegetation in the Western Part of Uganda. Most of the land here is made of green rolling hills and the lands are inhabited by so many farmers hence giving you a chance to see some settlements and way of life of these people. You will then spend the evening leisurely at your lodge after checking in.

Day 4: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi

Today is the big day for gorilla trekking, meet Uganda’s gentle giant! For most people this is the absolute highlight of their tour in Uganda. The gorillas you track belong to one of nine habituated family groups who can tolerate the presence of humans for a brief period every day. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest boasts both mountain gorillas and chimpanzees – the only forest in Africa which can make this claim. It also hosts five other species of primate, 113 species of mammal, over 200 butterflies and 360 birds. En route, your guide will point out signs of previous gorilla activity, including dung, nests and chewed bamboo shoots. Your track will be an exciting journey along forested slopes, entwined vines, bushes and bamboo before you eventually reach the gorilla family. The time taken to track the gorillas can be as few as 2 hours to as many as 7 hours. Once the gorillas have been located, your group will be allowed a maximum of one hour with them. Coming face-to-face with a mountain gorilla is a truly humbling and emotional experience. Day 5: Return to Kampala

Following your breakfast you will drive back to Kampala with lunch along the way; passing through rolling hills and terraced landscapes of western Uganda. A brief stopover at the Equator will provide you with an opportunity of photography and informative talks and transfer to the airport for your outbound flight.
